0816880 - 85 ton robot will handle radioactive materials
This 85 ton robot named Beetle is being tested for work in 'hot' nuclear areas by the US Atomic Energy Commission and the Air Force in the State of Nevada. The operator, protected by thick lead and glass shields turns his cab left and raises it 25 feet above the ground. The mechanical arms can carry parts and perform intricate operations on nuclear power and propulsion systems
