Out of the French windows first came the Churchills chocolate coloured poodle Rufus, followed by Sir Winston. Hundreds cheered as he raised his hand in greeting. The little finger of his right hand was bandaged as he had been troubled by an unhealed scratched finger since his recent visit to the US.
