Yesterday, 3rd December 1951, was "Bunter" Day at the BBC's Lime Grove Television Studios in London. Thirty-eight young heavyweight candidates were tried out for the popular part of "Billy Bunter" in the Children's Television "Greyfriars" series, planned to start in February.
