The demolition of the Berlin Wall, 1990.
The Wall was destroyed by a euphoric public over several weeks, and its fall was the first step toward German reunification, which was formally concluded on October 3, 1990.
The Brandenburg Gate in the background is a former city gate and the symbol of Berlin, Germany. It is located on the Pariser Platz and is the only remaining gate of a series through which one formerly entered Berlin.
