0435754 - 12000 scouts and guides assembled in Melbourne in Victoria for the Jamboree - an impressive feature was the grand march past the Chief Scout Lord Baden-Powell - the heat was intense - the guides did not object to a sprinkling with the water-hose while waiting for the march past to begin and those of the Scouts who wore Maori costume for the event were grateful for their scanty covering - photo shows the New Zealand contingent in Maori costume during the March past and Lord Baden-Powell at the Australian Jamboree
