Gallery Package - Scouts - 100 Years
9th June 1966 saw comprehensive changes in the Scout Movement announced by the Chief Scout Sir Charles Maclean at a New Design for Scouting Conference held at The Waldorf Hotel in London.  One of the main changes is the uniform, changing from shorts to long trousers.  The eleven new uniforms are from left to right, cub, scout, sea scout, air scouter, air scout, venture scout, venture air scout, lady scouter venture sea scout, and sea scouter.  In the report of the advance party set up by the chief scout to make a thorough analysis is of the movement and its future.  It is proposed that there should be three training divisions named, cub scouts, scouts and venture scouts.  The words 'Wolf', 'Boy', 'Senior' and 'Rover' are dropped.<br>©TopFoto/AP
