0509209 - BMW Motorbike and sidecar combination, 1957. Germany's Fritz Hillebrand and Manfred Grunwald, the 1957 125cc World Sidecar Champions in action. Grunwald leans out to keep the machine balanced as it negotiates an S-bend. They won the Isle of Man Sidecar TT in both 1956 and 1957. Hillebrand was killed when the pair were involved in an accident in a race at Bilbao, Spain at the end of the 1957. As a result Grunwald then retired. BMW Motorbike and sidecar combination, 1957.
