This picture well illustrated the tight bend at Governor's Bridge as Scotland's Bob McIntyre, on a Gilera 500, taken in in the Senior International Tourist Trophy Motorcycle race at the Isle of Man 7th June 1957
He broke the race record with an average speed of 98.99 miles per hour. He also broke the lap record by being the first person to make a lap at the average of 100 mph. Later he set the new lap record of 101.03 mph.
